One of the best things to come out of the production - aside from the book itself - is having my silly song put to music. The "Crappy Crude Song' is used by the radical environmental terrorists. It started as a silly idea, then became central to the plot. Nonetheless, I am not a songwriter, so I put together some silly lyrics and make a side joke in the text about it having a reggae beat because I thought a serious song about destroying a refinery and killing people and an upbeat reggae sound made a funny juxtaposition.
The song caught the interest of my narrator Becky Parker, who asked to put it to music. I didn't think it was possible, but how could I say no?
